After Rebirth, I Became the Fated Omega of the Scumbag Gong’s Uncle
The next day, when Lu Jinpan appeared in the conference room to host the confidential meeting, he was met with rather frank and fervent gazes from the other Serpent Guards.
The matter of Lu Jinpan developing AO pheromone dependency on Su Liang had not been made public, but among this highest-ranking group of Serpent Guards, it wasn’t exactly a secret.
Coupled with the uniqueness of the “Throne,” all the high-level vipers in the room clearly understood one thing—their boss had, far ahead of them, become an Alpha with a home and a partner.
This seemed to provoke a sort of indescribable emotional upheaval among them.
Xue Yinhuan yawned, his babyish face filled with overwhelming envy, jealousy, and resentment.
And Lu Jinpan this morning appeared even more radiant than usual. His face, already devilishly handsome, now looked even more like a demon full of stolen energy—so dazzling it was hard to look at him directly.
“So early…”
Xue Yinhuan lowered his voice and deliberately glanced at the time in the upper right of the holographic projection.
Then he muttered softly to himself,
“No wonder he’s the boss. Kidneys are really strong.”
Though he had deliberately lowered his voice, the conference room was so quiet that his comment came through loud and clear.
At that moment, everyone couldn’t help but glance again at Lu Jinpan.
Only Xue Yinhuan instantly sobered up, beginning to tremble slightly.
Lu Jinpan tilted his head slightly, his dark gaze resting on Xue Yinhuan for a few seconds. The Serpent Pit Lord’s look made Xue Yinhuan’s hair stand on end—he wished he could zip his own mouth shut.
(Why the hell did I say that out loud…)
Xue Yinhuan silently wailed, holding his breath and bracing for Lu Jinpan’s punishment.
But even as the meeting officially began, he slowly realized that Lu Jinpan had completely ignored his inappropriate comment.
This full-sealed confidential meeting was mainly focused on the issue of human gland trafficking and the N Farm incident.
A young man named Chilian methodically reported their latest findings in Sector 48.
“Thanks to Young Master Su Liang collecting enough data, we were able to find ‘her’.”
Chilian said seriously.
Following the clues Su Liang and other victims had uncovered, the Viper team went to the ruins of N Farm and found a life-support pod buried deep beneath the rubble.
“The target’s glands had already been removed long ago. She’s a young girl in deep coma, thin, severely anemic and malnourished. Her exact identity is unknown, but it’s estimated she’s been unconscious for four to five years. One thing is certain: before her glands were removed, her Omega level was extremely high.”
“According to victim testimonies and data we’ve recovered, her institutional code name was 0214. She was supposed to have been disposed of as a failed experimental product four or five years ago.”
Yet she was still alive.
There had always been a rumor that a certain supervisor at N Farm had secretly hidden a young girl beneath his room.
She was a gland donor for adult experiments.
Once glands were removed, donors had no reason to be kept alive—but it seemed this girl’s glands were somehow special.
Maybe the supervisor intended to use her as leverage or a last resort to save himself. He secretly altered the records and immersed her in a coma-inducing solution, hiding her in a secret chamber below his quarters.
But during the previous evacuation, the supervisor died under gunfire before he could retrieve his life insurance policy.
Thanks to the life pod, the girl was still alive when the Vipers found her—but…
“We can’t wake her up. Medical suspects that the pain and trauma from gland removal, followed by prolonged medically induced coma, severely damaged her mental sea. She’s unable to regain consciousness.”
Chilian reported.
“Another dead end… damn it.”
Xue Yinhuan cursed, his face ashen.
“We’ll find a way to wake her. Once she wakes up, we’ll get a lot more clues.”
Black Mamba said calmly to him.
Lu Jinpan studied the intelligence photo of the emaciated, skeleton-like girl, his voice indifferent:
“Investigate all high-ranking families in First Star Zone over the past four to five years—especially those where a new high-level Omega appeared during that gland removal window.”
“We’re already on it.”
The Viper in charge of espionage responded quickly.
“But since casting the net, we’ve found almost every major family has a member who ‘suddenly’ became a high-level Omega. Some used special drugs to elevate their levels, but a small portion likely had gland transplants.”
Xue Yinhuan suddenly spoke, sneering,
“Mega families’ Alphas move fast.”
He added,
“Even if the transplant fails, the removed glands can still be made into drugs and sold.”
Chilian muttered as well.
“We’ll need more time to verify if those Omegas advanced naturally. These high-level Omegas are tightly protected in those families. As Alphas, we can’t get close to them, so our progress is limited for now.”
The spy Viper explained.
“Speed it up as much as possible.”
…
As the meeting wrapped up, during the break, the baby-faced youth sighed.
“Sigh, snakes, huh.” He let out a breath, “Not everyone gets lucky like the boss—just randomly picks up an Omega, one who can fight, pilot mechas, and is drop-dead gorgeous. At least now with someone to go undercover at strip clubs or whatever, I don’t have to be the one taking the hit. That crap was rough.”
Xue Yinhuan said half-jokingly.
Lu Jinpan was clearly in a good mood today. He didn’t even respond to the immature teasing.
After the top-secret meeting ended, the metal doors opened slowly.
Lu Jinpan looked up and saw the boy waiting obediently outside—because of the pheromone dependency, Su Liang had been moving with him these days.
While Lu Jinpan dealt with confidential affairs, the young Omega would wait in the rest area next to the meeting room.
This meeting had dragged on forever with all the N Farm issues and more, but despite the wait, Su Liang showed no signs of impatience.
In fact, while Lu Jinpan worked, Su Liang had been completely focused on his handheld computer, continuing to draft his teaching plan.
Though they were deep in the cold, lifeless underground base of the Serpent Pit, any place Su Liang was present seemed to grow warmer, calmer.
Lu Jinpan’s gaze swept across Su Liang’s profile, then he suddenly stopped in front of Xue Yinhuan.
He raised his hand, stopping the baby-faced Viper who was trying to slip away.
“Boss?”
“If you want an Omega, what you need has never been experience.”
The cold and handsome man looked deeply at the young man in front of him and said each word slowly and clearly.
“What you need is a brain… and unparalleled luck.”
“…Huh?”
Xue Yinhuan stood frozen, unable to understand what his boss was talking about—but Lu Jinpan had already walked away.
Only after a long moment did one of the Vipers realize Lu Jinpan had been answering Xue Yinhuan’s earlier complaint.
Even someone as thick-headed as Xue Yinhuan now felt a deep sense of offense.
He grabbed Black Mamba’s arm forcefully.
“He did that on purpose, didn’t he?! Why the hell is the boss acting like this, showing off like that! Just because he’s got a partner he’s suddenly above everyone else?! Like it’s some big deal? Before Xiao Liang came along, he was just like the rest of us—single as hell! And anyway, I don’t even care about having a partner…”
But halfway through his rant, Xue Yinhuan couldn’t help but glance toward the door.
Beside the tall man stood Su Liang.
Two people with completely opposite temperaments somehow looked perfectly harmonious from behind.
He watched as Lu Jinpan spoke to Su Liang in a gentle, patient voice he had never seen before. A second later, Su Liang’s cheeks flushed slightly, but he still nodded.
Then the two embraced.
“Sigh… so nice.”
Xue Yinhuan murmured absentmindedly.
Black Mamba: “……”
*
A few minutes earlier—
“Sorry, may I receive your pheromone comfort… in the form of a hug?”
Lu Jinpan suddenly said to Su Liang.
“Did something happen?”
Outside the meeting room, Su Liang blinked in surprise, looking up at the man in front of him.
“I think maybe it’s the pheromone dependency acting up.”
The Serpent Pit Lord said calmly.
“I feel slightly… emotionally excited today.”
He tapped his temple, then slid his fingers down to rest briefly on his chest.
“And I can feel it… right now I have a strong, strong desire to make physical contact with you.”
