Gu Bai: =口=
Qiguan Rui: (⊙_⊙)
What the hell is this?!! Gu Bai turned his face away, unable to bear the sight.
Although he had expected to see something unbelievable, he hadn’t anticipated it would be this unbelievable! Was it scientifically possible for a delicate lolita to transform into an ape in seconds? Even in an unscientific world, this was too extreme!
Qiguan Rui took a deep breath. From the giant ape, he could sense an overwhelming and domineering power. This energy stirred the blood of the Heaven-Devouring Python within him, urging him to suppress the audacious creature challenging his supremacy.
In simpler terms, he wanted to fight, to assert his dominance.
But he quickly subdued this instinct. Qiguan Rui would not allow himself to be controlled by such primal urges. Instead, he began analysing the situation: Who is this giant ape, and why is it in the city lord’s mansion? Was it a true beast? Or…
Qiguan Rui narrowed his eyes. If the giant ape had always been here, his bloodline’s sensitivity would have detected it earlier. That left only one possibility:
Someone in the mansion had undergone a bloodline awakening. And that person’s bloodline was that of the giant ape.
As the original protagonist, Qiguan Rui’s brain worked quickly.
– If someone awakened, there must be a trigger.
– The trigger would likely be situational, explaining the sudden timing.
– What was the most unique situation today?
– The newlyweds, of course.
Considering that the groom was his own subordinate, Qiguan Rui already knew Chen Yuanhao’s bloodline and that it had nothing to do with apes.
Recalling the earlier earth-shaking roar during the marriage contest… The giant ape’s identity was clear.
Even Qiguan Rui, who was usually both perverse and composed, couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed as he glanced at the towering figure of the giant ape.
He quickly regained his composure, however, and tenderly took Gu Bai’s hand. “Gege, why don’t we spend the night together?”
Gu Bai was dumbfounded. What the hell? This isn’t the time for that!
Qiguan Rui smiled gently again. “If Gege isn’t willing to indulge with me in bed, how about accompanying me to investigate?”
It was a two-choice ultimatum:
– Roll in the sheets.
– Get a closer look at the “beautiful” giant ape girl.
Gu Bai: “…” Was this even a choice? Clearly option two! He glanced at Qiguan Rui, flicked his sleeve, and leapt out the window. His light and graceful form, with his white robes and flowing hair shimmering in the moonlight, made him look like an ethereal immortal.
Qiguan Rui felt an invisible chasm growing between them. His expression darkened, and he launched himself after Gu Bai—only to nestle into his arms.
Gu Bai: “…”
Carrying his “male pet,” Gu Bai flew toward the giant ape.
Gu Bai’s mastery of lightfoot technique was commendable. The silver arc he carved through the air soon brought them near the chest-pounding giant ape.
Gu Bai: …Girl, doesn’t that hurt? Just listening to it sounded unbearably painful.
The commotion naturally awakened the entire mansion. Guards responsible for the city lord’s safety, the city lord brothers, the dignified maids and maid candidates from Heaven’s Capital, as well as numerous drunken guests staying the night—all hurried to the scene. The sky seemed filled with streaking figures. As they approached, many noticed the location of the disturbance.
Wasn’t that the bridal chamber? What about the newlyweds inside? Are they okay? With such thoughts in mind, the crowd landed one after another.
The giant ape was truly immense, towering like a mountain peak. Its massive frame resembled a solid boulder, its white fur gleaming like starlight, and its punches thundered like a storm. Everyone had to crane their necks back at a near 90-degree angle to glimpse its ferocious visage.

Gu Bai observed silently for a while. Then, glancing at the destroyed bridal chamber, he stepped back. If his guess was correct…
The giant ape lowered its head slowly, its crimson eyes brimming with fury. Who dares disturb my emotional outburst?!
Gu Bai retreated another dozen metres, cradling Qiguan Rui. No sooner had they moved than a massive fist came crashing down where they had stood.
The spectators scattered like startled birds.
Now enraged, the giant ape began chasing after the onlookers, smashing with relentless fury as if determined to turn a few into meat patties.
Although some of the martial artists present were at the wu wang level, none dared to confront the ape’s punches directly. One hit and you’re done for! If we’d known watching this would be so dangerous, we’d have gotten drunk on the streets instead of sleeping here!
Faced with this predicament, the desperate crowd formed temporary alliances, working together to distract the ape and conserve energy for survival.
Sang Mao, who had arrived quickly, grabbed his brother Sang Jun and placed him behind him. Tilting his head back, he let out a resonant ape-like roar.
The giant ape’s attention shifted to Sang Mao.
The other spectators immediately fled to Sang Mao’s side, relying on the safety of numbers.
Gu Bai, however, acted differently. Seeing the ape’s focus change, he put Qiguan Rui down.
Qiguan Rui, dropping his usual act, straightened and shed his feigned frailty. “Gege, why don’t you join City Lord Sang?”
Gu Bai replied impassively, “Chen Yuanhao.” Do you even remember your subordinate? You’ve already figured out what’s happening, so drop the act! The mighty Heaven-Devouring Python afraid of an ape girl? Get real! The poor groom is in desperate need of saving!
Qiguan Rui feigned a realisation and smiled. “True. Without Yuanhao, I’d lose a valuable asset in the future.”
Gu Bai, exasperated by this callous employer, shook his head and turned toward the rubble. At least, let’s hope he’s still alive…
Qiguan Rui’s gaze twisted as he watched Gu Bai walk away. Softly, he murmured, “Why does Gege always care about others? Am I not enough?” He shook his chained wrist, his smile darkening.
Gu Bai stopped, noticing Qiguan Rui hadn’t followed. “Xiaoshan, hurry up.”
Qiguan Rui blinked, his smile becoming genuine, the shadows in his eyes lifting. He quickly caught up, saying lightly, “I’ll help you, Gege.”
Gu Bai nodded. “Naturally.”
The two approached the wreckage.
What had once been a lavishly decorated bridal chamber was now in ruins. Most of the structure had been demolished, though a section of wall and part of the roof remained intact, with what seemed to be a wedding bed visible inside. That must be the bridal chamber.
Gu Bai moved to enter but was stopped by Qiguan Rui.
Gu Bai stared at him silently.
Qiguan Rui smiled faintly. “Gege, be careful not to see anything dirty.”
Gu Bai: “…” Is that any way to talk about your own subordinate? We’re all men here. What’s there to fear?! Besides, if “indecent” is dirty, I’ve seen plenty, okay?!
Qiguan Rui added with another smile, “Gege can only look at me. Everything else is filth.”
Gu Bai facepalmed and conceded.
Satisfied, Qiguan Rui stepped forward into the rubble.
Gu Bai followed, his view obscured by Qiguan Rui’s figure, so he glanced around at the damage instead. This is tragic…
The once lavishly decorated chamber now looked like the aftermath of a tofu-brick construction collapse. Red decorations were shredded, furniture smashed, and antiques reduced to rubble.
Rest in peace.
A soft noise drew Gu Bai’s attention. Qiguan Rui, a few steps ahead, paused to examine the scene. Without stopping him, Gu Bai moved forward to see for himself.
The bridal chamber’s ceiling was partly gone, revealing a starry sky. On the barely standing wedding bed, Chen Yuanhao sat clutching a corner of the quilt, his expression pale and helpless.
He looks like a violated maiden! Young man, pull yourself together!
Though still in his inner garments and unharmed, Chen Yuanhao’s dazed expression betrayed a severe psychological blow.
Gu Bai sighed in sympathy. He knew what the others didn’t.
The ape bloodline had a peculiar trait: during the first consummation, it would absorb the partner’s yangenergy to fully awaken, temporarily transforming the host into its true form—the giant ape.
No doubt, Chen Yuanhao’s wedding night began delightfully, with an affectionate bride, perhaps even one passionate enough to leave him breathless.
But then, just as he was basking in satisfaction, his bride likely leapt from the bed, as energetic as if nothing had happened.
Imagine the blow to his confidence. Naturally, he’d try to pull her back for another round. Only to find… her wrist growing fur. White fur, but still fur!
Before he could process this, his petite wife ballooned into a massive ape, smashed through the wall with a deafening crash, and stormed out.
This is straight out of a horror film!
