Chapter 69: The Two of Them

Gu Bai felt overwhelmed, his body trembling as an intense sensation coursed through him, almost as if he was being swept away by an avalanche. Amidst the haze, he vaguely heard Qiguan Rui murmuring in his ear, and before he realized it, he had responded unconsciously.

“Love…” Love, my ass…

—Wait! What did this twisted freak just say? A feeling like being struck by lightning left Gu Bai’s brain buzzing and blank. Hahaha… What? Love? This had to be an illusion! It was definitely a misunderstanding… Gu Bai froze for a moment, trying to process what he’d heard, before preparing to continue.

But then Qiguan Rui’s voice sounded again, calm and deliberate. “Gege… I love you.”

…Damn it. Gu Bai shuddered as though a bucket of icy water had been dumped over him. Was this freak actually confessing?! He didn’t remember writing this feature for him!

He had written the protagonist as a stereotypical harem lead, not someone capable of love. In the original story, this twisted protagonist never said “I love you” to anyone—it was always about conquest! Where had this gone wrong?!

The shock obliterated Gu Bai’s mood entirely, leaving him utterly unresponsive. The beautiful blush that had adorned his skin drained away, leaving his body rigid and stiff.

Qiguan Rui’s hands, like unyielding clamps, gripped Gu Bai’s waist tightly. His confession… Was it truly so unacceptable to Ziche Shubai? Did it warrant such a reaction?!

Qiguan Rui himself had been startled when the words left his lips. For the longest time, he had thought his desire to possess Ziche Shubai was born purely of obsession and dominance. But now, faced with the truth, he understood. He wanted Ziche Shubai entirely, not just his body but his soul, his mind—everything.

For the first time, Qiguan Rui felt a raw anticipation as he awaited a response. When silence stretched between them, he repeated his confession, the tension in his chest unbearable. “Gege… I love you.”

The moment was fragile and tense, as if balancing on the edge of a blade. But Ziche Shubai’s lack of response was like a dagger to his heart.

Ziche Shubai was utterly unresponsive. He wouldn’t accept it. He wouldn’t even acknowledge it. His actions spoke volumes, clearly rejecting any possibility of reciprocity. This realization tore through Qiguan Rui like a savage wound.

In desperation, Qiguan Rui tightened his grip and began to ram into Gu Bai hard and fast. He forgot about being gentle and submissive. He just wanted to bury himself deeper into Ziche Shu Bai’s body, as if he could enter his heart in this way. He wanted to nail Ziche Shu Bai to his body, so that he couldn’t leave, and could only belong to him for all eternity.

Gu Bai, thrown off balance by the force of the situation, found himself pinned helplessly. Fuck! This lunatic is relentless!

Though the situation was overwhelming, Gu Bai managed to glance at Qiguan Rui’s face. His expression, once calm and composed, was now twisted with bloodshot eyes and a feral intensity. But instead of fear, Gu Bai was struck by an unfamiliar emotion. Was that… Pain?

On instinct, Gu Bai reached out, his hand resting on Qiguan Rui’s back. “Don’t be sad, Xiaoshan…” The words slipped out before Gu Bai could think.

But this wasn’t “Xiaoshan.” This was Qiguan Rui, the protagonist he had written with his own hands. A cruel, twisted protagonist who was supposed to dominate the world without a shred of pain or regret. So why did Gu Bai feel like he had wronged him?

Trying to calm him, Gu Bai leaned in and lightly kissed him on the lips. There. Happy now? You unreasonable freak.

Qiguan Rui froze. For a moment, time seemed to stop as he processed the act. Then, he surged forward, capturing Gu Bai in an intense, possessive kiss. He pinched Gu Bai’s jaw, pried open his teeth, and slipped his tongue into the gap which aggressively entangled with Gu Bai’s tongue.

Qi Guanrui had begun to move again. Gu Bai let himself be drowned by the pleasure. A hoarse voice then resounded in Gu Bai’s ear, “What did you say before?”

Gu Bai was already in a daze again, he repeated intermittently: “Xiao, Xiaoshan… don’t… be sad…” It was both the pervert and Xiaoshan’s handsome face. He didn’t want to see a sad expression on it.

He had warned himself and prepared himself, but he still didn’t want to see…

Qiguan Rui’s voice, husky and low, murmured in his ear. “Gege… You don’t love me, do you?”

Gu Bai, at a loss for words, opted for silence. Better to say nothing and avoid making things worse.

For Qiguan Rui, the lack of rejection was enough. In his heart, he was certain. If he could have this much, he could demand more. He would win Ziche Shubai’s love—fully and completely.

As Qiguan Rui’s demeanour softened, Gu Bai noticed the shift. Well, somehow, I managed to calm him down, Gu Bai thought, exhaling in relief. But deep down, he had a nagging premonition. No matter how much he tried to deny it, Qiguan Rui’s words had left their mark. And now, Gu Bai couldn’t shake the feeling that he was truly caught in that twisted web.
